Walle Corporation Introduces EcoFlex® Sleeve Label Innovation
Harahan LA, January 10, 2008 – Walle Corporation, a leading label supplier to the beverage, food and household products industries, today introduced its EcoFlex Shrink Sleeve Labels.
Walle leveraged its high quality flexo printing capabilities, utilizing the latest in computer-to-plate technologies and its high efficiency, 10-color 50” wide servo-driven central impression press technologies to develop an economical, high quality shrink sleeve label solution that has several advantages over competitive offerings.
“Previously, two printing technologies—gravure and narrow web flexo—were the only shrink sleeve options available for customers,” said Sean Keeney, Walle’s President and CEO. “Gravure has high cylinder costs, making it suitable only for very long runs with infrequent graphics changes. Narrow web flexo offers lower pre-press costs and lead times, but run inefficiencies make it suitable only for short runs.”
EcoFlex combines the long run efficiencies, higher run speeds and wider web widths of gravure with the low pre-press costs and quick turnaround times of narrow web flexo. “The EcoFlex Shrink Sleeve Label is another Walle ‘industry first’ that will bring value and advantage to our customers,” said Keeney.
