Humble History, Proud Reputation
Walle Corporation was founded in 1872 and today is a leading label supplier to the consumer packaged goods industry. Family-owned for the past 35 years, we were the first to offer a broad range of label products and one-source convenience for our customers.
Early Tradition of Quality
Walle humbly began as a quality, local lithographer when it was founded by Gustav Koeckert and John Walle in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1872. Early illustrations by Fredrick Von Ehren which included artistic announcements for prestigious Mardi Gras krewes established Walle as one of the South’s premiere printing companies. By the early 1900’s, Walle & Co., Ltd gained national recognition for Von Ehren’s high quality, artful label illustrations for locally produced foods, coffees, seafood and vegetables that would become prevalent on grocer’s shelves.
Reinvestment, Refocus and Rebirth
In 1982, Cecil Keeney, a successful local businessman and entrepreneur, purchased Walle. Building on Walle’s culture of quality and label expertise, Cecil reinvested in new equipment for higher efficiency and refocused Walle exclusively on its core label printing business. By the mid 90’s, Walle had grown into one of the nation’s leading label manufacturers.
A New Chapter in a Great Story
Today, a new generation of the Keeney family is continuing Walle’s legacy of innovation and leadership in the label industry. With over 300 employees in two operating divisions, and headquarters in Roswell, GA, Walle provides optimal label solutions for both small, growing companies and established Fortune 500 consumer brands. Still family-owned and operated, Walle continues to specialize in label printing and adhere to its core values of quality, efficiency and dependability.
Caring Corporate Citizen
Walle’s culture of care is evident in our commitment to our community and environment. Walle was an early pioneer in the sustainability movement. Over 25 years ago, Walle went green by recycling all trim waste and formulating its own water-based inks. Today we are extending our eco-friendly efforts by utilizing solventless laminating adhesives and solvent-free printing plates.
In its local communities, Walle encourages and supports its employees volunteer efforts, such as helping to rebuild areas of New Orleans impacted by Hurricane Katrina. Walle provides all of its employees one paid day each year to volunteer in local charities.
